  • Adopting with the Baltimore County Humane Society was the best experience I could've imagined. The staff were always willing to take questions and get me the answers I needed whether it was over the phone, in person, or via email. The entire adoption process went smoothly from start to finish and we couldn't have asked for a better pet! Thanks again for all your help!

  • The BUS was very clean and cheerful. They had a large selection of healthly cats. The people were all very nice and helpful. I brought home mynew boy Boh today. He is a dream. I look forward to a long and loving relationship with him.

I was going to adopt at least one dog, maybe two. Met them and they were great, no problems at all. I put in an app for them and after 3 days I get a call that my 30 year old son has to come meet the dog because he's skittish to men, which he never showed to me. I walked him around on a leash, played with him etc and we got along great. I told them I thought that was ridiculous and what if he can't, and the reply was that's their requirement, as well as we can't have anyone new at our house for two weeks until the dog acclimates.
I've owned dogs, and cats, all my life and I'm 62, the reason I want one now is because my dog of 10 years, she was 13 and from another rescue center, passed away and I miss her badly. But I think the requirements they want today are totally ridiculous. Here I wanted to give one of them a home, a pit bull at that which no one wants to adopt, and they make you jump through hoops.
I'm sorry they are so strict because all it hurts is the dog. I guess they have their reasons but I won't recommend this place to anyone.
